Hit The Ground Running with our Back To School Hints and Tips

We honestly can't believe that the start of term is once again in sight. Summers seem to get shorter, so it's important to hit the ground running come the start of school.  As busy parents the less stress you have, the better, right?

We've gathered together a selection of hints and tips to make parenting life so much easier as your kids go back to school.

Plan Breakfast!back to school breakfast

It's going to make your life so much easier if you get cups, bowls and plates laid out the night before, ready for breakfast time. You could even reserve a shelf in the fridge, ready to go for breakfast and maybe step it up a level and reserve a shelf for lunch items too?

Get Lunch Box Savvy

Have everything together on the fridge shelf for pack lunches, you'll easily see when you’re running low, and if the kids know that area is off limits you’re less likely to discover on Sunday night that they’ve eaten all the snack lunch packs of crackers at the weekend.

Set Rules

Start as you mean to go on by setting rules about screen time for the school year. What's allowed and when?

Get your kids involved in programs that they can do after school to keep them active.

Back to School with Melody Bear

Let’s pretend, let’s imagine, let’s create, let’s DANCE!

Melody Bear has her tutu and ballet shoes packed ready for the new school term.  She can’t wait to get back to her ballet classes and see all her friends again.  But who is Melody Bear?

Melody Bear is the story book character at the heart of the Melody Movement Early Learning curriculum.  Her narratives, pictures, music and songs inspire and engage the senses as pre-school children learn about the world around them through creative movement.  Class themes include a visit to colours and counting, magical garden, finding a unicorn, rocket to the moon, seasons and nature and a fairy tale castle to name just a few!

In addition to physical development and respect for others, children learn the value of combining music, movement, dance and the imagination to tell a story and convey emotions whilst promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Melody Bear’s age-appropriate classes are taught by qualified teachers at dance schools across the UK for ages 18 months upwards.

Come along and join Melody Bear – it’s the perfect introduction to the world of ballet for every young dancer.

Athletics for mini people

Mini Athletics is the first of its kind. First and foremost, it is so much fun! However, Mini Athletics is so much more than that.

Through 3 progressive classes, children go on a fantastic journey in athletic movement. Our Mini Athletes aged 2-7 yrs of age are introduced to the basics of athletic movement skills (running, jumping, throwing) in a play based yet structured format. Children are encouraged to develop athletic skills that are fundamental to their early physical development. In addition, the exercises build essential cognitive and social skills such as listening, following instruction, sharing, using their imagination and teamwork.

Plenty of running, jumping and throwing games based around a theme each week introduce children to the movements and skills necessary for a wide range of sports, promoting a healthy, active and happy lifestyle.

Classes for 2-3, 3-5 and 5-7 year-olds are held on weekdays and weekends in Forest Hill, Dulwich Village and Peckham, with free taster sessions available. Email or read more online.

Introducing Hello Panda Mandarin School

The First Montessori Mandarin Chinese language school in Liverpool. FREE Trial class! Enrol now!

Do you want your kids to communicate to over billion people around the world?

Right now there's 1.4 billion Mandarin speakers, there's no doubt it's the most spoken language in the world.

In Hello Panda Mandarin School we provide our students with smart learning technology. Each student can access their personalised profile and studying materials online. We will regularly update our online study platform with exercises, interesting Chinese animated videos, games and Chinese songs so that your kid can share and enjoy them anywhere anytime.

We are fully aware of that parents play a crucial role in the child’s education. Therefore, parents will receive a progress report regularly. If your child has any question at home, you can talk to us through Q & A session. We always want to keep in touch with parents. Together, we care for and watch every step of your child’s development.

In Hello Panda Mandarin School, our teaching method is Montessori-based which is significantly different with the traditional way of teaching led and taught by the teacher. Your child is the main role in our lesson. Our lesson is full of collaborative plays, singing Chinese songs and watching cartoon videos in Chinese. It will make our students feel engaged and provide them with a fun exposure to the language.

More interestingly the Chinese characters are like objects or pictures, so the Montessori is the most ideal teaching method such as drawing or demonstrate the characters with flashcards. Not only it is the fun way to learn, but also help them rapidly absorb and memorize the language. We aim to create a happy and pleasant learning atmosphere for our students. We want the children to discover the love and fun of mandarin with their natural curiosity.

Let the world connect, Learn  Mandarin Chinese.
